Meet the Team: Chris Arndt

How did you end up working with Red Granite and ORBA? What path brought you here?
Throughout my career, I’ve always loved helpings others. So when I got the itch to start my own company (i.e., Red Granite), I received great advice to focus on what I love doing. I’ve enjoyed every day for the past six years because I get to help our clients grow and succeed, and I get to help our team grow and be more awesome every day.

However, as we began to grow with our clients, I realized that we could be doing so much more for them.  So, I began to think about finding a firm that would be a complementary fit with our client base. I already had a good working relationship with ORBA at that time, so I was excited when they were interested in joining forces.

Because we focus on working with fast-growing companies, we knew this required a higher level of touch with our clients as they are always changing. We felt that ORBA was the perfect fit for us and our clients as they also provide a higher level of touch with their strategic tax and consulting services.

And the rest, as they say, is history!

What’s your area of expertise?
Besides being an accounting nerd, I’m also a data and technology geek at heart. I think my expertise is taking large sets of data and turning it into actionable information for our team and clients.

What gets you excited about growing ORBA’s Cloud Services Group?
Besides my earlier answer on why I started my own company, I also get excited knowing that we’re at the forefront of a shift in how businesses see their accounting team. Technology has automated much of the data entry now, so that’s a commodity. Accounting isn’t someone hammering away on their ten key behind a closed door. Instead, our progressive clients see the real value of our accounting is in the information we glean and the story we can tell about their business based upon the accounting data.
