Biography

The Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center (CCAC) helps more than 2,000 of these children in Chicago, specifically children who are reported victims of sexual abuse and life-threatening child abuse. Our unique model, which brings together professionals from law enforcement, child protection and medical pediatrics, ensures that these children quickly receive a coordinated investigative response, in addition to the care they need to stop their suffering and start the healing process. Before CCAC opened its doors in 2001, sexually abused children were often forced to tell their story multiple times, prolonging and even compounding their trauma. CCAC is the only organization of its kind in Chicago, and helping these children is the reason we come to work every day.
